About

What is food culture?  Food is universal and it has a way of connecting us across cultures and generations.  Food can be an impactful way to teach kids about other countries illustrating a region's environment, history, people, and traditions. Join me in exploring how food culture connects us, nourishes us, and educates us.

Meet the Host

Paula Caldwell

Nice to meet you!  I'm Paula, a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and School Nutrition Specialist living in Seattle, Washington.  Growing up I had a fascination and passion for cooking and food.

As an adoptee, I was able to connect with my Korean heritage through food starting at a young age.  My family memories of making and eating Korean dishes together were meaningful in my upbringing.  Hence, I wanted to create this space to wonder, discuss, and explore food for what it is and how we, as educators, adults, and parents, can foster cultural appreciation through food.
